Founder's note
Hi, I'm Rishabh.
I've been travelling since before it was cool to have an Instagram grid. From hitchhiking across Himachal Pradesh to summiting Mt Rinjani in Indonesia — I've done the solo thing, the luxury thing, and everything in between.
What I kept coming back to: the trips that mattered most were the ones where I connected with real people — locals, fellow travellers, communities doing remarkable work quietly.
Alternate Travel is my attempt to design that experience for others. Small groups. Real places. One mystery event nobody sees coming. And always, a moment where we give back to the place that hosted us.
Every trip I put on this platform is one I've personally done or willing to do. No guesswork, no stock-photo vibes — just honest experiences I'd go on myself.
